Yorkey Investigation Inc., Ethics Code 

No part of this document shall supersede the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.25, as amended, or its regulations. Yorkey Investigations Inc. is an organization licenced to engage in the business of providing private investigators. The employees or directors of Yorkey Investigations Inc. are licenced private investigators. Yorkey Investigations Inc., and its directors are a corporate member of The Council of Professional Investigators – Ontario (CPIO) that is the recognized industry association of private investigators and private investigation companies in Ontario.

The CPIO Code of Privacy (Adopted by Yorkey Investigations Inc.) is a component of this Code of Ethics.

Yorkey Investigations Inc., support the following objectives of the Code of Ethics. A. To ensure a high standard of investigative services are provided to the public. B. To maintain courteous and professional conduct. C. To enhance the relationship of CPIO Member’s with regulatory bodies, law enforcement, clients, the public, and non-members.

Reputation of the Profession 

Yorkey Investigation Inc. regard itself as a member of an important and respectable profession.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will ensure that our reputation, that of fellow Members of the CPIO, and the investigative profession is maintained at all times.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will not engage in any investigative activity for which we are not competent and qualified.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will adhere to the Standards of Conduct and Compliance with the Code of Ethics and Code of Privacy as defined by the CPIO.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will at all times conduct investigations with integrity and in accordance with the lawful instructions of their client.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will conduct due diligence to ensure that the identity of a client is verified, and that the client has a lawful purpose to retain and instruct the investigator.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will ensure that all employees, subcontractors, and other persons paid to assist in an investigation adhere to this Code of Ethics and the Code of Privacy.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will maintain the confidentiality of all information received as part of an investigation.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will respect the privacy of clients and their right to confidentiality.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will conduct investigations in a manner consistent with the Code of Privacy.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will ensure adequate security for personal information collected in the course of an investigation and will take all reasonable steps to protect against inadvertent or negligent disclosure.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will not use information obtained in an investigation for personal gain.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will pay CPIO membership fees in full when due. Failure to renew membership may result in the removal of Yorkey Investigations Inc. from the Association.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will not at any time make false or misleading claims to academic or professional qualifications. 

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will not make false or misleading statements about a fellow member.

Conduct of Professional Practice 

Yorkey Investigations Inc. agree to disclose conflicts to a client at the first opportunity with any influence, interest or relationship pertaining to an investigative engagement which may impair our professional judgment or objectivity.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will ensure that prior to accepting an engagement, the objectives of the client are fully understood, and that the client has been informed of anticipated costs and the time required to complete an assignment.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will not provide opinions for which we are not professionally qualified to give.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will be forthcoming, truthful, and professional in disclosing investigative findings. Reports to clients shall be complete, objective and unbiased. Reports will not provide opinions without a factual foundation. information and services available to your customers, and your customers must follow your rules.

Return and Refund Policy

 

We have a 1 - day return policy, which means you have 1 day after submitting your completed contract provided by Yorkey Investigations and the retainer has been provided by you to request a return of the retainer along with the cancellation of the contract.

To be eligible for a return, we have not started on the assignment and only that portion of the fee which has not been used by the banking payment method. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@yorkey-investigations.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: [INSERT RETURN ADDRESS]

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will attempt to employ the services of fellow members of the CPIO when an investigation may warrant.
Yorkey Investigations Inc. will not take advantage of referrals by fellow members in order to interfere with the referee’s business relationships.

Yorkey Investigations Inc. will not make false or misleading statements about a fellow member.
